Thank you to everyone who came to open house. It was great to meet and talk with everyone.

Since the beginning of the school year, we've been focusing on estimation and methods for addition in math. Please use the IXL link to help work on these goals. You can ask your student to demonstrate the different addition methods (break apart, traditional, and partial sums).

In reading, we are focusing on the different types of text (fiction and nonfiction). In our WIN groups we are learning about nonfiction text features such as captions, photographs, diagrams, headings, etc. A fun extension activity at home would be to find a nonfiction book, read it, and find some of the nonfiction text features we've been learning about here at school.
